Recurrent parotitis.

Recurrent parotitis in children is a well described but rare condition of unknown cause. The clinical features of 11 children with recurrent parotitis are described.

Enalaprilat induced acute parotitis.

Drug induced acute parotitis is a very uncommon complication reported with a few drugs only. There is no case of acute bilateral parotitis reported previously with i.v. enalaprilat. We present here a female patient who developed acute bilateral parotitis within minutes of i.v. enalaprilat injection and recovered within 24 hours of stopping the drug and with symptomatic treatment.

Acute suppurative parotitis.

The parotid is the salivary gland most affected by inflammatory process. The authors reviewed the records of 36 patients with acute suppurative parotitis admitted between July 1996 and June 2002.
